One feature of Amazon Music allows users to upload their own MP3 files from other sources, but that service is shutting down over the next year or so. According to a help page on Amazon's website, the company will end its Amazon Music Storage subscription service in January 2019. An official date hasn't been released, but once the storage service ends, users won't be able to play or download MP3s they previously uploaded.
Amazon Prime Music Won't Download
Amazon already removed the ability to upload personal MP3s to Amazon Music through its PC and Mac apps earlier this week. The company's dedicated music importer software shuttered even earlier, back in 2015.
Both free and paid customers of Amazon Music Storage will be affected by this recent decision: free users, who were able to upload up to 250 files, can play and download any of that music until January 2019. Free users should download their previously uploaded tracks before January 2019, because those will become inaccessible through Amazon Music at that time.
Paid users, who paid $25 annually to store up to 250,000 files, can also play and download any of that music until their subscription expires. Those who let their subscription expire won't have the option to renew it, and all songs over 250 will be removed. Those remaining 250 songs will be available for one year after the subscription expires before they're removed as well.

Those who stand to lose the most in this situation are paid Music Storage subscribers. Those customers should re-download any and all tracks they originally uploaded before their subscription expires to avoid the service erasing part of their library and leaving them with just 250 songs.
Amazon notes that this change only affects music imported to Amazon Music from other sources. Any music you've purchased from Amazon or uploaded using Amazon's AutoRip service won't be affected. Amazon released AutoRip in 2013 as a way for users to sync CD tracks through MP3 matching, so at least the music that you paid for a long time ago won't be affected by Amazon's move.
Uploading personal MP3s isn't as popular as it used to be thanks to the rise of music streaming services. But at the beginning of the transition, some companies offered ways for customers to listen to their personal MP3 files along with music provided from the new service—Apple has iTunes Match and Google Music has scan-and-match as well. At the time, it was a convenient way for companies to encourage new users to sign on without abandoning the huge music libraries they may have already built up over the years. With more of the music industry moving to paid streaming, it makes more sense for Amazon to focus on its Music and Music Unlimited services.
This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.

Best music app! Would give 4.5 stars!
I love this app! There's a few bugs but for the most part the app runs well. Rarely do I have to skip songs to get it to continue playing; sometimes it forgets where it's at in the song once I've hit paused so it'll replay from the beginning but I don't mind that. I love that I can listen to just about whatever I want for free. I just wish you could customize stations or that it was easier to find specific stations (There may be a way and I just haven't found it yet). I'd like to have an 80s, 90s, and today station just because it's all my favorite at one time. Oh well, I'm enjoying my random solely 80s music days so it's good. I also like the exposure to new music as well. Overall, love this app; very minimal complaints. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could.
Reduced to 3 stars. The has gotten buggy. It crashes every so often and takes several tries to restart it. I still like the ease of use and it's the only app I use for music however I'd like to see some updates pertaining to customer complaints. Back to 4 stars. Fewer crashes! Some bugs still when paired with Bluetooth but overall a great app Possibly the most frustrating music app
I am currently subscribed to the unlimited and will be done with it for good after June is over. Short version; of you have prime then it’s included, great. Otherwise save your money.
I like to listen to stations as it gives me a better variety; first off the variety of similar artists was soo off pace for the first few days I was pressing thumbs down more than I was anything else. These were stations I created and couldn’t believe there were algorithms out there saying they were similar artists, furthermore it would continually throw the same artists I thumbed down MULTIPLE Times in there with different songs that weren’t any better. Secondly and possibly even more frustrating is that when I paused a song and then would go to press play on that song 5-10 minutes later I would just get the “loading song” description and that’s it. I would then need to skip or push to the next song ,then press play again in order for it to start playing music. Lastly if I searched an artist and then created a station off of that artist I would notice that if paused that station and then resumed within 5-10 minutes it wouldn’t resume on the station it would resume on most previously searched artist.. free pandora is a better choice than the current state Playlists & more
I would like more flexibility on how I add music to my playlists if I had them to add them to a specific list they are not in my general list. If I add everything to my general list my playlist gets bigger than I like so I end up just dumping music. Also I like hearing an entire album but if I download the whole thing it doesn't mean I want to keep the whole thing. Be nice to set tags or reminders when you downloaded so you could go back and review and evaluate. Also I hear songs on albums that aren't in the general mainstream that I really like. It would be fun to have maybe a WhatsApp community or some other type of group where you could share songs you liked with other people who like similar music where you could talk about what a song means to you or what you really like another artist. I could live a sheltered life and that already exists. But anyway. That's just a few things for my feedback. I generally think of a lot welcome to tag me up for additional feedback. Loraine
